Choose the AI service this installation uses. A change applies to the running application straight away — no restart is needed.

This installation is using Knowledge Fabric AI, which is what a new installation starts on until an administrator chooses otherwise. Questions asked of the assistant, and the content they carry, are sent to the Knowledge Fabric AI service outside your network. To keep everything on your own network, choose your own Ollama server.

Knowledge Fabric AI

In use

The AI service Knowledge Fabric provides. There is nothing to configure.

Not used for training. Your content is never used to train models.
Kept only to answer you. Your content passes through Knowledge Fabric's gateway, which keeps no content, to a service that retains nothing once the answer is returned.

Ollama

An Ollama server on your own network, or Ollama's hosted cloud service.

Nothing leaves your network. Questions and content go only to the server you name.
You choose the model, from what your server actually holds.

No AI service

Turn AI off entirely.

The assistant and AI asset discovery become unavailable. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Content language

The language AI-generated content is written in: knowledge asset names and descriptions, signal names and descriptions, and any new tag. Choose the language this organisation curates its knowledge map in.

Generated content language

Applies to content generated from now on. Text already in the knowledge map stays as it is, and can be edited by hand.

Conversation retention

Assistant conversations are stored so users can pick them back up after a reload. They can contain the names of knowledge holders, so choose how long this installation keeps them. Conversations that have been idle for longer are deleted automatically.
